September Deals @ BodyPoint Medicine

Hello Friends and Fans of BPM!

We are excited to bring you a new promotion for the month of September. We are very excited to have Rachelle Lambert and Jami Shetler join our healthcare team.

Rachelle Lambert LAc provides Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as well as eastern style acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. She works with local dermatology and plastic surgery offices to assist clients in revitalizing and maintaining their complexion, and reducing scars and blemishes.  Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that has treated people for over five thousand years. Chinese medicine sees the body as working together as a whole organism. The whole person will be treated, not just the disease. We get to the root cause of your condition, and treat the cause versus treating symptoms. Other aspects of traditional Chinese medicine include herbal therapy, dietary therapy, and certain breathing exercises called tai qi or qi gong. The basis of Chinese medicine is on the concept of Qi/chi. A way of describing Qi is life energy. Qi runs through twelve channels (meridians or pathways) through the body. These channels run from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. Physics have proven that everything is made of, and radiates energy. Acupuncture helps to mediate the energy flow in the body, resulting in decreased pain, increased blood circulation, strengthened immune system, reduced stress, balanced hormones and neurotransmitters, and a balanced nervous system.

Reiki Master Jami Shetler, has devoted her life to healing and the integrative field of energy medicine, treating a multitude of chronic and acute conditions.  Assisting individuals to heal on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels is an ongoing passion of hers. Reiki is the Life Force Energy which sustains and restores us, bringing us back to optimum health and balance. When the body becomes depleted of this healing energy, imbalances and energetic blocks began to occur. These imbalances and blocks are the root cause for most ailments. By restoring the body with Reiki, one’s energy begins to flow uninterrupted. Healing outcomes of Reiki are many; alleviation of pain and discomfort, emotional balance and peace, sharpened intuition and clarity of thoughts, connectedness to humanity and community, relief of stress and tension, deeper sleep and optimum potential, increased joy and a renewed love for life, and others. In essence, Reiki returns us to our desired state of being.

We want to help our patients relax and enjoy a higher quality of life, pain free and sleeping easy. So in September we will be offering discounted treatments with Rachelle and Jami for stress relief.  You can contact me, Carolyn Wrightam, to find out more information or to schedule.

An Introduction to Reiki and FREE Treatment!

No one likes to go into a doctor’s appointment with no idea what to expect.  We want to educate and inform our patients before they even come in the door–so they know what the treatment accomplishes, how it works, and what they themselves want to do before and after care in our clinic. Our newest provider, Jami Shetler, offers a service wholly new to BodyPoint Medicine, and we want our patients to understand our advanced and alternative treatment options.

Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing by reducing stress, encouraging relaxation, and replacing low or unhealthy energy with healing energy. Reiki is a cosmic, “life-force” energy, and when that energy within us is low, sickness and physical pain often result, due to depletion.

What to expect:

During a session, the patient relaxes on a massage table while the Reiki practitioner administers Reiki with different hand positions, both on and above the patient’s body. The patient remains clothed, and relaxes with soft music, and often falls into a relaxed, meditative state during the session. The practitioner often uses crystals for their healing benefits around the patient’s body, and the aroma of essential oils to create a balance that is the most beneficial for the individual patient. The practitioner also uses Reiki symbols to break up foreign energy, and replace blockages with healthy energy. The patient may feel the practitioner’s hands grow very warm, or at times cold, depending on the energy needed in that area of the patient’s body. During the session, the practitioner will be in a meditative state, with her eyes closed most of the time, while she actively looks at the chakras and the alignment of the patient’s body, pinpointing areas of stress, foreign energy, and pain.

From Jami:

Jami Shetler Reiki Longmont, CO BodyPoint MedicineAs a Reiki master, I look past the physical to see where stress and foreign energy are plaguing the patient. Everything spiritual relates to us on a physical level, so often I see stress hitting a person on a certain area of their body, and the client will usually confirm that they are experiencing physical pain or problems in that area as well. Or, at times it’s something such as foreign energy in a throat chakra that makes it difficult for a person to express their truth to others. Or the patient has suffered the ending of an important relationship in their life, and their heart chakra is extremely wounded and vulnerable. Through treatments and the healing of the heart chakra, the patient can recover much quicker both emotionally and physically. Reiki breaks up the hindrances and refuels the patient with light, love, health and peace. When our spiritual bodies are balanced, we experience lowered stress, serenity and better health in our lives.”

Reiki treats the entire person, including the mind, the emotions, and the spirit. It has the capability to aid in the recovery of virtually any illness or struggle, with beneficial effects. It is not uncommon for a patient to report complete life changes and better moods feelings in general when keeping up Reiki treatments as a sort of maintenance. Reiki is safe and works well in conjunction with all medical and therapeutic treatments. It helps to alleviate side effects and promote healing.

On Thursday July 2nd, Jami will be offering FREE Introductory Reiki treatments all day!

Call ahead to reserve your time, but walk-ins welcome!

Aromatherapy

She is an advocate in the treatment room, and encourages her patients to communicate what they are hoping to achieve with each of her body tune-ups. She prepares personalized pamphlets for each client to take home, filled with stretches and exercises geared towards each specific issue. At our office, we see many patients with spinal issues, some that have even required surgery, and these massages can help with ongoing pains or even scar tissue pain that can prevent people from having a full range of motion.

On Stones, Schedules, and Stocking Stuffers!

Hello my Wonderful Readers!

I wanted to intimate some information to you all, and what better way than this lovely blog?  Firstly, (and boy am I excited about this one!) Shevone has brought back her HOT STONES for the season!  I just had my first HOT STONE MASSAGE on Wednesday, and boy oh boy was it amazing!

hot stone massage

Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. Shevone may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body.  A common question people have is whether to get hot stone massage or a regular massage. Some people find the warmth of the hot stones to be comforting and get this type of massage for relaxation.  (From my personal experience, I can tell you that Shevone can go much deeper after those pesky trigger points when using hot stones–the heat from the stones just makes those muscles melt and your tension because nothing more than a puddle of melted butter; or at least this is how feel after a hot stone treatment!)

Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It’s also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure. I myself have found that while I love deep pressure on my back or neck, my calved can barely stand to be touched; unfortunately, they probably need more work than my back and neck combined!  The hot stones are a new tool that Shevone can use to rid her patients of harsh knots and spasms.

People also get hot stone massage for a variety of health conditions:

Back pain and aches
Poor circulation
Arthritis
Osteoarthritis
Stress, anxiety and tension
Insomnia
Depression

Shevone is offering hot stone upgrades for $15 on each massage.  I would like to caution patients that as we get closer to jingle bells and holiday smells that Shevone’s schedule will fill up!  Families and loved ones seem to adore giving each other massages for the holidays (my mom came to visit earlier this month, and I myself could not let her leave without a massage from Shevone!) so Ms. DiSanti’s schedule can be tough; call me, Carolyn,  earlier rather than later to reserve s spot!
